Collaboration with Trish Scott: Tate Britain, January - April 2015
Spaceship school tested out the possibility of establishing an alternative art school within Tate where (in a complete reversal of usual roles) children taught adults based on their passions and interests.
With reference to R. Buckminster Fuller’s concept of Spaceship Earth - a community of interdependent human beings living in a shared space - project participants created a playful zone outside of the everyday, an open-ended and speculative universe of ideas, presented in a way which referenced the materials and pod-like structure of a spaceship.
The school opened to the public on 25th April 2015. Unsuspecting visitors to Tate found themselves 'zapped'and initiated into a series of activities.
